MUST VISIT PLACES TO EAT WHILE YOU'RE IN THE GOLD COAST

New to the Gold Coast? Looking for somewhere for date night? Or are you just tired of getting MacDonalds for your weekly “cheat night” dinner? Whatever your reason may be, here are five restaurants that everyone should visit when their stomach comes rumbling.

1. Paddock Bakery

Located in Burleigh Heads, Paddock Bakery is an adorable rustic cafe. Trees everywhere, guests can chose to sit in the cottage, the barn, the loft or on the rooftop. Having had the personal experience of eating in the barn, you can be assured that there is no hay or dirt anywhere! Quite the opposite, with its warm lighting, white barn walls and overall cozy atmosphere, patrons are also seated near the kitchen (which means your food is even closer than ever!) Open from 6am-3pm, 7 days a week, the menu boasts delicious meals such as their Cheesy Potato Rosti with bacon or avocado, Butter Chicken Curry Pie, and, my personal favourite, the Maple Bacon Toastie. Of course, you cannot forget the drink menu, with its assortments of coffees, juices, milkshakes and smoothies!

Address: 20 Hibiscus Haven, Burleigh Heads, QLD

2. Mukbang 888

Mukbang 888, a Korean BBQ restaurant situated in Varsity Lakes brings taste to life with their extensive, and admittedly spicy, menu. With hot plates, boneless, and boned, chicken, hotpot, glass noodles, stir-fry udon, ttekbokki, bibimbap and even Korean pancakes. Open 7 days a week from 4:30pm-10pm, Mukbang 888 is the perfect place to go for a dinner with friends.

Address: Shop 11/228 Varsity Parade, Varsity Lakes, QLD

3. India Garden

A beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Robina, India Garden doesn’t just have the loveliest staff, but also the most delicious meals that you could ever bring to your stomach. With an eye-catching red and gold appearance, its hard to walk past without giving it a try. India Garden caters to all sorts of pallets; they have chicken based foods, lamb, beef, seafood, tandoori, goat, biryani, and vegetarian, vegan, and dairy-free options too! Of course, you can’t forget about their naan bread, that admittedly can get addictive to eat! A spectacular restaurant, perfect to go to when celebrating a friend’s birthday.

Address: 126 Robina Town Centre Drive, Robina, QLD

4. El Camino Cantina

If you’re going to Surfers Paradise, then this is one place that you cannot miss! With a lively atmosphere and colourful interior, this Tex-Mex restaurant can only be described as an unmissable experience. With nachos, tacos, fajitas, burritos, burrito bowls, and of course, chicken wings, its hard not to let your nose lead you through its doors towards such mouth-watering food. What about the drinks? Well, El Camino Cantina offers classic and Cadillac margaritas, specialty cocktails, wine, sangria, and beers. The best part? Wings are only 10 cents on Wednesdays, and Tacos only $2 on Tuesdays! How could you not go to El Camino Cantina with deals like that?

Address: 2 Cavill Avenue, Surfers Paradise, QLD

5. Chiangmai Thai

After some genuinely good Thai cuisine? Look no further than Chiangmai Thai! With a gorgeous set up of purple walls, warm yellow lighting, and elephant statues everywhere, Chiangmai Thai is the most beautiful Thai restaurant the Gold Coast can offer. With cozy seating inside and out, Chiangmai Thai offers wonderful service and equally fantastic food. Their menu offers a variety of foods, from soups, to salads, to curries to stir fry to rice and noodles. Of course, then there’s the banquets, a package of all that listed above, including lychee ice cream! Of course, the entrees are just as good, ranging from spring rolls, to calamari rings, to Thai dim dims, to curry puffs (which are highly recommended). So if you want to mix things up a bit, why not try Chiangmai Thai? You won’t regret it!

There you have it! Gold Coast’s most mouth-watering restaurants that should not be missed! Happy eating!
