CANNES FILM FESTIVAL BEST FASHION MOMENTS

Lights, Camera, ACTION! This year’s Cannes Film Festival is one to remember. This event celebrates films that inspire, communicate, and entertain those watching making an overall impact in the film industry. PAUSE. Enough about the films let’s get to the topic everyone loves to hear about. Fashion!

Some of our favourite movie stars have shown out and did not disappoint. Some followed the simplicity of a black and white film and others used rich colours to enhance the luxury of film colourization.

Now let’s press play on these remarkable ensambles.

Scene 1

Our beloved Lily-Rose Depp in Chanel

The simplicity of this outfit is what makes it stand out. The ongoing black theme throughout her outfit draws the eye. It is a timeless style that will never get old. We can familiarise her outfit with the movie Clueless, 50 years from now it will still be Iconique!

Scene 2

The breath-taking Rosie Huntington Whitey wearing Valentino

The bow accent on the side of this dress adds an extra element to the dress. The old money style has come back and this dress has come with it. The high slit on the side of the dress give a foxy feel and I am here for it!

Scene 3

The gorgeous Gigi Hadid wearing Zac Posen

The dress speaks for itself as it is humble and sophisticated. The material elevates the light brown colour to present a warm energy to those watching. This dress is the ultimate power move.

Scene 4

The definition of humour Jennifer Lawrence wearing Dior

This red dress defines lavish love. The poise and beauty of Lawrence compliments the dress perfectly. The length gives dimension to the outfit along with the fabric draping over her arms almost like a warm hug from a loved one.

Scene 5

Brazilian model Alessandra Ambrosio wearing Elie Saab

Ooo Lala! This dress shines bright like a diamond. The sheer fabric with a sparkle touch is phenomenal. The attention to detail including the imbedded “hood” like accessory makes the outfit 10x more unique. Such a wonderful design bring out the curves for those who are looking for a more tight hug around the body.

Scene 6

Our favourite princess Cinderella in human form Elle Fanning wearing vintage Oscar De La Renta from Shrimpton Couture

Another simplistic dress, but with a feathery finish. This vintage piece is superbe and the texture built into the skirt part of the dress gives a fun twist to it. The white flower represents delicacy as it blossoms through the seasons similar to a how a film develops overtime.

Hey where did all the popcorn go?

The simplicity of these fashion looks give commendment to the celebration of film. What an amazing way to appreciate both those who worked in the film industry and the outcome of such hard work. The attire worn has the ability to acknowledge those in attendance to honour this commitment.

The ending of a movie is, in my opinion, the most important. There are so many outcomes whether it be tragedy, cheerful, abrupt, comedy, etc. but no matter what a message is shared. These fashion statements and many others by those who put in the time to entertain others and share a message embody humble beginnings and successful endings. There is no better way to do this than of course you guessed it, Fashion. As the famous film “Dead Poets Society” quotes, “Carpe Diem”. Seize the moment, preferably through fashion. CUT!
